Employment agencies in Lithuania

Looking for a job but don't know where to start? Feeling lost amongst numerous job advertisements and unsure which offer is best? Recruitment agencies in Lithuania can help – intermediaries who assist in finding suitable employment and simplify the hiring process.
THE PURPOSE OF EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES
The main objective of recruitment agencies is to connect employers looking for staff with job seekers.
Recruitment agencies help:
• To employers – to save time and resources when searching for employees. Agencies select candidates according to the requirements, conduct initial interviews, and also prepare attractive job advertisements to attract candidates.
• For those seeking work – to get employed in certain companies and positions, where (most often) the companies themselves do not advertise these vacancies publicly. It also helps to get employed in at least short-term positions when suddenly losing a job and a steady income.
EMPLOYMENT AGENCY GUARANTEES
When looking for a job through a recruitment agency, it is important to choose a trustworthy one. One way to assess an agency's reliability is to pay attention to the guarantees it provides:
• Equal working conditions. When employed through an agency, your working conditions and social security provisions must be the same as those of directly employed staff. This means equal working hours, holiday entitlement, health insurance, pay, and paid salary supplements.
• Salary always paid at the same time. The agency must guarantee that you receive your agreed salary on time. This means you should not experience financial uncertainty or anxiety. If salary payments at the agency fluctuate by even a few days, it means the agency is possibly only paying you your salary when the client (company) pays their invoice for your work. This is a bad salary payment scenario for employees.

RECRUITMENT AGENCY REVIEWS: HOW TO ENSURE THE AGENCY IS REPUTABLE?
Before you start working with a recruitment agency, it is extremely important to find out what current or former employees say about it. One of the best ways to do this is to read reviews about the recruitment agency. You can find them in a Google search by typing in the recruitment agency's name, in Facebook groups, and on the Rekvizitai.lt portal. Reviews can reveal a lot of valuable information about the agency's work specifics, the quality of customer service, and form a general impression of communication with employees and how much the agency cares about them.
What to consider when reading reviews about recruitment agencies?
• Number of reviewsThe more reviews there are, the more reliable the overall rating trend will be. For instance, if one agency has only 10 reviews, which make up a 10/10 rating, and another agency has 150 reviews, which make up a 4.8/5 rating – the second agency deserves more of your attention, as it is very difficult to maintain a high rating with an extremely large number of reviews. Meanwhile, a company with only 10 reviews might have received them fictitiously (ratings from employees, friends, relatives), or very long ago (reviews older than a year are not recommended to be taken objectively).
• Nature of reviews: When reading reviews, it's important to read not only the positive feedback but also the negative feedback, as this will show you what the most commonly mentioned problems are and help you assess whether they are relevant to you. If you see the same problem mentioned in negative reviews, it's likely that people are not lying. Reviews such as „I called once but no one answered“, „I don't recommend it“ (written without a specific reason) or simply seeing a negative rating without any commentary should be assessed more subjectively.
• Responses to feedbackPlease note whether the company responds to customer feedback, especially negative feedback. If the company actively tries to solve problems and consider customer needs, it shows its responsibility and professionalism. If the recruitment agency uses a template response for all negative comments, it indicates that the company is unwilling to solve specific problems and, in most cases, simply tells them to contact their general email, thereby „shedding“ responsibility.
MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LITHUANIAN AND FOREIGN EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES
• Minimum wage and social security. When seeking employment through a foreign recruitment agency in another country (e.g., you can contact a German agency with a desire to work in Germany), it is worth knowing that in economically stronger countries than Lithuania, the minimum wage is often higher, and consequently, the average salary in the country. It is also important that holiday duration, health insurance conditions, and other social guarantees may differ from those applicable in Lithuania.
In Lithuania, employment agencies often offer jobs in various types of companies, such as manufacturing, construction, logistics, retail, and services. In foreign countries, however, agencies tend to be more focused on the manufacturing and logistics sectors, seeking employees specifically for such companies.
Lithuanian recruitment agencies typically have lower qualification requirements for job seekers compared to foreign countries where certificates, licences, or other documents are often required, without which employees cannot secure employment.
You can look for work in a foreign country not only through Lithuanian recruitment agencies but also by contacting a foreign recruitment agency. Of course, we recommend contacting Lithuanian agencies first, as communication would be in Lithuanian, and you would communicate with a representative from Lithuania on all matters that arise. Communication in foreign country agencies takes place in English or another language (Russian, German, Dutch, etc.), which can cause difficulties for those who do not have a full command of the foreign language.
